History Revisited on Prezi (sigh, can’t embed it on WP.com it seems)
For the presentation component of my final project for Info Design, I decided to revisit Prezi. My topic is centered around history and I wanted something that would have more visually linear flow than a simple PowerPoint would provide (PP not linear enough? ha!). This time my usage of the tool went much more smoothly than the last (and first) time I tried it. I think partially because I didn’t attempt too much “layering” and zooming in this presentation and because I had a better sense of scale and the limitations of Prezi. In my prior attempt, I needed to place text at too far a zoom than was really doable, in part because I don’t think my partner and I made sure to start at the largest zoom.
It was also fun because I think most of the people in my year of the library program have seen Prezi at least once, but for this class the majority of the audience was information management people. Extra “wow” value…nice since I was the next-to-last to present that day.
